Learn the Tiffany method of copper foiling with Sharon of Maybug Studio, making a stained-glass panel from a supplied design for an IKEA lantern. Copper foil allows small pieces and delicate designs; this session welcomes beginners and people with some glass-cutting experience.

After a safety briefing, you will prepare and cut glass, apply adhesive copper foil, burnish and flux the edges, then solder, finish and polish the work. Sharon teaches stained glass through her own studio and as a guest tutor at Lechlade Craft Barn.

The main project description promises one copper-foil panel, with time permitting to replace up to three remaining panels with plain coloured glass. Another sentence says up to two panels, so ask the organiser to confirm the intended project and what the materials charge covers before booking.

This workshop is for over-18s only and is not suitable during pregnancy because lead-based solder is used. Wear closed-toe shoes: the work involves sharp tools and hot soldering irons.

Materials cost extra according to the chosen design and are payable to the tutor on the day. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included; bring lunch.
