About this event
Emma-Jane Roberts built the Calypso Kids sessions around a puppet frog and a lily pad that produces something different every time, mapped loosely to the Early Years curriculum and normally run out of nurseries, schools and her own base on Sheep Street. Bookfest gets a story written specially for the day, one that never turns up in the regular sessions.
This time Calypso reaches into the lily pad and pulls out a dinosaur egg, and what follows is built from songs, instruments and craft rather than a straight read-aloud. Emma-Jane also runs The Lily Pad Book Shop alongside the classes, so there are books in the room as well. It's pitched at the under-fours, and accompanying adults don't need a ticket of their own.
A dinosaur egg is a good excuse to get a room full of toddlers moving on the last morning of Bookfest.
Free entry, but booking is essential.
