About this event
Barnsley is one of those Cotswold villages that feels deliberately untouched by time and once a year, it opens its gates.
The Barnsley Village Garden Festival has been bringing people into this beautiful corner of Gloucestershire for over 30 years, raising money for local charities while showcasing gardens that are otherwise firmly closed to the public.
The centrepiece is Barnsley House Hotel's four-acre gardens, designed by the legendary Rosemary Verey including her famous potager kitchen garden alongside the grounds of Barnsley Park, considered the finest Georgian house in Gloucestershire, and the 45-acre arboretum containing 1,600 trees and the national collection of bamboo.
Beyond the gardens there are craft and local produce stalls, a jazz band, barbecue, licensed bar and bell-ringing. Children go free and parking is included.
A genuinely special day out in one of the Cotswolds' most unspoilt settings.
Tickets from £10 in advance.
