As You Like It - Shakespeare Comedy

Into the Forest of Arden

Shakespeare's most joyful comedy — disguise, desire, love found in unlikely places and the strange freedom that comes from leaving everything behind. The Cotswold Players bring As You Like It to Stroud in a production inspired by the colour and expressionism of the Pre-Raphaelites, which promises something visually rich and slightly otherworldly.

The story moves from a cold, cruel court into the Forest of Arden — where identities shift, love complicates everything, and the whole thing tips into glorious, messy, romantic chaos. A classic told with proper ambition by Stroud's own company.

Presented by The Cotswold Players at the Cotswold Playhouse, £16 a ticket. Five performances, Tuesday to Saturday — and one of Shakespeare's best reasons to go out on a weeknight.
