WorkshopAutumn Colours: Natural Inks and Drawing Trees
Friday 16 October
📍 Cirencester

About this event
Spend a full day with experimental archaeologist and heritage educator Sally Pointer, exploring how archaeologists piece together textile techniques when the original fibres have rarely survived. The workshop moves from evidence into making, with cordage in flax and lime bast, splicing and spinning, and looped, braided and twined textiles.
You will use flint tools to make an antler needle from naturally shed antler, then either begin a larger project or make sample swatches using the techniques covered. All materials are supplied, with tea and coffee provided. Lunch is not included, although the museum can recommend places to eat.
The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm at the Corinium Museum. The museum says it has full disabled access, accessible toilets and a wheelchair to loan, while Saturday parking is available at St James Place on Old Tetbury Road, a short walk away.
Ticketed. Book through the Corinium Museum.
