Kingswood's Village Hall Turns Into a Musicals Stage, Round Two

Kingswood Amdram Group, known locally as KADS, run their two biggest nights of the year out of Kingswood Village Hall, a room more used to parish suppers and quiz nights than choreography and costume changes. Saturday is the second of two performances of A Night at the Musicals, a run-through of numbers pulled from stage and screen shows, sung and acted by a cast drawn from the village and the towns around it.

KADS is a small outfit, a few hundred followers on Facebook rather than a professional company, and this show sits alongside their usual murder mystery evenings and, this year, their first attempt at panto, a risqué take on Sleeping With Beauty already in rehearsal for later in the season.

There's a particular kind of energy in a hall this size when a big number lands, no orchestra pit, no fly system, just a cast giving it everything a few feet from the front row.
