About this event
The Cotswolds doesn't lack for summer spectacle, but Tequila Circus is a different animal. Founded by Juan Domingo Morales, an eighth-generation Mexican circus artist, and his partner Eleanor Morales Debney, this touring big top show has been pitching up at Minchinhampton RFC for several years now, and it works precisely because the setting is so gloriously unlikely: a canvas tent on a rugby club field in the Gloucestershire hills, full of flying trapeze and wheel of death.
The show runs for about an hour and covers the full range: aerial acrobatics, high-wire, comedy clown acts and the kind of high-energy stagecraft that Morales has been doing since he first performed at the age of three and a half in his family's Fannyes Show Circus in Mexico. It's alcohol-free and pitched at all ages, with seats split between Front View (the first two rows, close enough to feel the air move) and Rear View for anyone who prefers a bit more distance. Candyfloss, popcorn and circus souvenirs are available inside.
The Minchinhampton run goes from 29 July to 2 August, with multiple shows daily. Tickets via TicketSource.
