About this event
The Corn Exchange in Witney runs a summer holiday cinema series — five films, five weeks, five decades of cinema — and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang kicks it off.
At £4 a ticket, it is one of the more affordable ways to fill a Tuesday morning in the holidays.
The 1968 film follows Caractacus Potts, an eccentric inventor whose flying car takes him and his family to Vulgaria, where a baron has made children illegal. Rescue mission follows. It runs to about two and a half hours and sits comfortably in the sweet spot for primary school age — enough going on to keep younger children engaged, familiar enough for adults to enjoy alongside them.
If you want all five films in the series, a season ticket is available in person at the Corn Exchange box office — all five for the price of four.
