About this event
The Cirencester International Organ Festival opens its five-night run with Stefan Donner — an Austrian concert organist and teacher at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, here for the first time.
His programme spans from Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor through Mozart's Adagio and Allegro in F and a pair of works by living composers — Maximilian Kreuz and Paul Hertel — closing with Guilmant's three-movement Sonata No. 1 in D Minor. St John's is the right acoustic for all of it.
The festival continues into August, with the OrganFestival Chorus, John Challenger, Thomas Hawkes and Matthias Maierhofer still to come.
