The Farm Shop That Opens After Hours

Leaf and Ground shuts its café at five most days, a Dursley Road farm shop and deli better known for scotch eggs and sourdough than an evening crowd. On the first Friday of September it reopens after hours for Hannah, a Dursley-based artist who has run her Sip and Paint nights here before and is coming back with easels, brushes and a canvas for anyone willing to give it a go.

Doors open at ten to seven for a glass of bubbles before Hannah talks the room through the canvas step by step, at a relaxed pace with zero pressure for anyone convinced they can't paint. All materials are covered in the ticket, the café bar stays open through the evening for anyone who wants more than the welcome glass, and there's an option to add Leaf and Ground's homemade deli food on top.

Bring nothing but yourself and leave with a finished canvas and a decent glass of something a farm shop doesn't usually pour on a Friday.
