About this event
Robert Harris comes to Cirencester History Festival to discuss Agrippa, his historical thriller set in Imperial Rome. The novel follows Marcus Agrippa, a commoner who became the close ally and military force behind Octavius, later Emperor Augustus.
In conversation with HistoryExtra's Dave Musgrove, Harris will examine the line between fact and fiction, along with the propaganda, ambition and political manoeuvring that shaped Rome's rise. The hour should suit readers of historical fiction and anyone interested in how power is built and held.
Bingham Hall's main room is accessible to wheelchair users and pushchairs, with accessible toilets nearby. On-street parking is limited, while Forum and Beeches car parks are close to the hall.
Ticketed. Sold out; join the waiting list in case tickets become available.
