NT Live: Golden Boy (Combe Screening)

A violinist drawn towards the boxing ring

Filmed live at London's Almeida Theatre, Golden Boy follows Joe Bonaparte, a gifted young violinist tempted by the fame and money of professional boxing. Clifford Odets' drama is set in 1930s New York, where that choice puts his music and family loyalties under pressure.

Josh O'Connor leads Sam Yates' production, with a live string quartet drawing the two sides of Joe's life together. The cinema release is rated 15 and includes an interval; check the finishing time before planning your journey home.

Seating at the Hub is unallocated and spaces are limited, with parking at the adjacent recreation ground rather than on Park Road. The venue is not fully accessible for wheelchair users, so contact the organisers in advance about access or priority seating.

Ticketed. Advance booking recommended.
