About this event
Four acts, not a touring circuit franchise: this September show is put together by the Redesdale Hall Trust itself. Duncan Oakley headlines with three named guitars, Maurice the Strat, No.7 the acoustic and a Les Paul he calls "the Lezza," a habit that fits an act daft enough to win English Comedian of the Year in 2015 and Midlands Comedian of the Year the year after.
Katie Pritchard follows with hand-sewn costumes and pop-parody songs, the same set that filled houses when her show "Disco Ball" went to the Edinburgh Fringe after she won the Musical Comedy Awards. Philip Simon, once Jewish Comedian of the Year and a Mock the Week scriptwriter, built a whole Fringe hour around the fact that he once played Daddy Pig in the West End run of Peppa Pig. Stratford-upon-Avon's Ashley Frieze compères, guitar case at his feet, twenty years into swapping jokes for songs mid-set.
A headliner who names his instruments, an actor who's played Daddy Pig, and a host from just up the road. Not a bad line-up for a Friday in town.
