Talk & LectureThe Glosters in the Korean War: Why Is It Relevant Today?
Friday 16 October
📍 Cirencester

About this event
How secure is the international order built after 1945, and what happens when its old assumptions stop holding? Lord Peter Ricketts, the UK's first National Security Adviser and former chair of the Joint Intelligence Committee, joins Guardian senior international correspondent Luke Harding to examine war in Europe, shifting global power and pressure on democracy. HistoryExtra's Dave Musgrove chairs the conversation.
Expect a serious hour of current-affairs discussion rather than a conventional history lecture, with Ricketts bringing decades of diplomacy and national-security experience and Harding the perspective of a journalist who has reported extensively on Russia. Doors open at 1.40pm; level access is through the North Door with accessible toilets inside, and several town-centre car parks are nearby. Parking in the Market Place is limited.
