About this event
Historian and broadcaster Kate Williams brings Regina to Cirencester History Festival for an illustrated talk about royal women and the ways they navigated power, politics and prejudice. The book ranges from Hatshepsut and Boudica to Catherine of Aragon, Lady Jane Grey, Yaa Asantewaa and Princess Diana, asking how women's influence has been recorded and remembered.
The talk takes place in the Grade I listed Church of St John Baptist, with level access through the North Door and accessible toilets. The festival lists Abbey Grounds, Waterloo, Forum and Brewery car parks nearby, plus limited Market Place parking and some free weekend spaces at St James's Place House.
The programme runs from 6pm to 7pm, although the festival page does not publish a separate doors time. Under-22 tickets are listed, but there is no event-specific age suitability note, so check the booking details if you are bringing a younger listener.
