Luther Vandross spent three decades as one of soul music's most controlled voices. Four Grammys and hits like Never Too Much and Here and Now came from restraint and phrasing, not vocal fireworks, and that's a hard sound to reproduce.

Harry Cambridge started out on the West End with the National Youth Theatre before moving into tribute work. His Vandross performance on Stars In Their Eyes impressed producers enough that they brought him back for two further special shows, and he's toured the set nationally since, working in Marvin Gaye, Barry White and Al Green on request.

Doors open early with rolls on offer before Cambridge takes the stage later in the evening.

A televised talent show brought him back twice for this exact performance, and that's the bar this tribute clears.
