DWW Festival Day 2: Long Linear, Upper Framilode to Dursley (Hard, 12 miles)

Canals, old industry and twelve miles back to Dursley

This hard 12-mile linear walk begins with a coach from Dursley Bus Station to Upper Framilode. Walk leader Richard Harris of Dursley Rambling Club then takes the route beside the River Frome and through the canal network at Saul Junction towards Eastington.

There is a lunch stop at the Community Orchard, with an optional detour to Westfield Bridge and Lock, before the walk passes the old mill buildings and follows lesser-known paths back to Dursley. The going is mainly good, but the distance, stiles, stream bridges and a climb near the end earn its hard grade. This is the one for walkers who want the day to feel properly used.
