About this event

A hard day's walk from the Little Avon to the escarpment

This hard 12-mile walk starts with a coach from Dursley Bus Station to Wickwar. The route crosses Sturt Bridge, follows muddy paths through Lower Woods and continues across farmland around Wortley.

It climbs towards Newark Park, a Tudor hunting lodge built around 1550, before taking on the steeper escarpment above Wotton-under-Edge. North Nibley, Waterley Bottom and Stinchcombe Hill follow on the return to Dursley, so expect a full day on foot from 9:30am to 4pm.

This hard route calls for sturdy walking footwear, waterproofs and enough food and drink for the day. Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or guardian and be capable of completing the walk, while festival rules do not allow dogs.

A ticket includes the coach transfer; the organisers say the charge does not cover its full cost and welcome an optional donation.
