Talk & LectureThe Glosters in the Korean War: Why Is It Relevant Today?
Friday 16 October
📍 Cirencester

About this event
The Bayeux Tapestry is now in England for the first time in nearly 1,000 years, and this illustrated talk looks past the familiar story of Hastings. HistoryExtra Content Director Dave Musgrove will guide the audience through ten details to spot, including oaths, omens, weapons and curious scenes in the margins.
Expect a closer look at how the embroidery tells its story, what its images suggest about the politics and propaganda of 1066, and why its bawdier details still raise questions. It is a one-hour talk in Boutflour Hall, with level access, disabled parking spaces and an accessible toilet at the venue.
Ticketed. Book through Cirencester History Festival.
