Talk & LectureThe Glosters in the Korean War: Why Is It Relevant Today?

About this event
Broadcaster and architectural historian Dan Cruickshank brings The English House to Cirencester in an illustrated talk about eight buildings. From a Huguenot silk-weaver's house in Spitalfields to a pioneering modern home in Northampton and a block of East End flats, he follows the ambitions, fortunes and everyday lives that shaped them.
This is social history as much as architecture, using individual homes to show how English life changed over the centuries. Beeches Car Park is opposite the Barn Theatre, buses stop nearby, and the venue lists ramps, level access and an accessible toilet.
