Talk & LectureThe Glosters in the Korean War: Why Is It Relevant Today?

About this event
The Cotswolds has more than 60 known Roman villas, but this Corinium Afternoon is less a roll call of ruins than a look at what they can tell us. Phill explores a mix of familiar sites and lesser-known discoveries, using their locations, finds and mosaics to sketch out Roman life in the region.
The talk also leaves room for the gaps in the story, asking what these villas still cannot tell us about the people who built and used them. It is part of Corinium Afternoons, a museum talk series that takes the collection as its starting point.
The museum warns that Cirencester's one-way system and parking can be a bit of a challenge. Old Station Car Park is about a two-minute walk away, with cashless payment and other car parks within five to ten minutes; the museum also lists full disabled access.
