A Musical Trip Without Leaving Chipping Norton

The Town Hall on Market Place has hosted the town's amateur theatre for generations, a Grade II* listed building that Chipping Norton Amateur Operatic Society (CHAOS) fills again this September, this time for something lighter than a full book musical.

Around the World with CHAOS is a themed revue, numbers and songs drawn from musical theatre set everywhere from Paris to the Pacific, sung by a company pulled from across the town's am-dram regulars, with costume and staging doing the travelling. It's the kind of show local operatic societies stage between their bigger spring and autumn productions, lower stakes, wider range, still full voice.

A small-town society singing its way around the world for one night, in a hall that's stood on the same spot since 1842.
