About this event
A talk that goes well beyond the usual Tudor headlines. Dr Owen Emmerson historian at Hever Castle, Anne Boleyn's childhood home brings the story of England's most scrutinised queen to Cirencester Parish Church for an evening that's as much about the woman as the myth.
Presented by the Friends of Cirencester Parish Church, this is an intimate lecture format: one speaker, one subject, properly explored. Dr Emmerson has spent years working at the site most closely associated with Anne's early life, so expect a depth of detail you won't get from a documentary. The politics, the personality, and the circumstances that shaped one of history's most consequential figures.
Good one for history enthusiasts, Tudor obsessives, or anyone who finds the standard "she lost her head" version of events a little thin.
