Twinberrow Woods Sculpture Trail

Twinberrow Woods, on the edge of Dursley above the A4135, is home to a kilometre-long circular sculpture trail that is entirely the product of the local community.

Launched in 2008 and run by the Twinberrow Foundation — with Dursley Town Council as corporate trustee — the trail winds through a canopy of high-forest beech, where the sculptures range from small carved pieces to larger installations, each made by local groups spanning all ages, some working alongside professional sculptors.

The theme has always been healthy living, and the works are organic to their setting rather than imported or institutional. A separate Halloween trail runs during October half-term, giving the woods a different character in autumn.

The trail is free to enter and open year-round. To reach it, head out of Dursley on the A4135 towards Tetbury, continue uphill with the woods on your right, take a sharp right at the top and follow the road until you see the trailhead sign.

Roadside parking is available on both sides near the entrance, though it is limited — the woods can also be reached on foot from the town centre if you prefer to walk up. The circular route is roughly one kilometre, so an easy hour out for families and dog walkers alike, and there are no entry fees or booking requirements.
