Hyll Hotel
About
Hyll Hotel
Hyll is a 26-room country house hotel set in open Gloucestershire countryside at Charingworth, a small hamlet about two miles from Chipping Campden along the Campden Road. The building dates to the 14th century and the core manor house still holds a clutch of rooms with views across the gardens and rolling hills beyond.
The hotel operates under the Madfabulous Hotels group, which rebranded it from Charingworth Manor and gave it a quieter, more considered feel, fire-warmed sitting rooms, a well-stocked bar, and grounds to wander rather than a packed activities programme.
The 26 rooms split between the original manor house and a courtyard wing, ranging from compact courtyard rooms to those with separate sitting rooms; dog-friendly garden terrace rooms are also available.
There is a heated indoor pool, and the restaurant works to seasonal menus built around local produce, open to non-residents for lunch and dinner.
It suits couples after a proper rural retreat close to Campden's shops and restaurants without being in the middle of them.
