About Cotswold Digest

Cotswold Digest is a hyperlocal weekly newsletter and business directory built for people who live in, visit, and love the Cotswolds. Every Thursday we publish a curated edition covering the best events, food & drink, walks, stays, shops, and local stories from across more than 40 towns and villages.

Alongside the newsletter, our directory gives local businesses a permanent home — with honest editorial reviews and CD Picks chosen by our team. Individual Standard and Premium profile pages remain free from third party advertising, giving each business a clean and focused presence.

We are independent, editorially led, and in our founding year. Brands partnering with us now become founding sponsors — locking in the lowest rates we will ever offer as the list grows.

The reader

We are in our founding year — our list is growing weekly. This is who we are building for.

Lives locally

Cotswolds-based residents or people with strong ties to the area — not a broad national audience.

Supports independents

Values local pubs, independent shops, farm shops, and small makers over chains.

Active & outdoors

Walks, cycling, markets, and events. People who use the Cotswolds rather than just passing through.

Discerning spender

Willing to pay for quality experiences, stays, and food. Not bargain-hunting.

Community-minded

Reads local news, attends village events, cares about what's happening nearby.

Why now

Founding subscribers are the most engaged. Early advertisers get outsized attention before the list scales.

Why advertise with us

Hyperlocal

Every reader is Cotswolds-based or has a genuine connection to the area. No broad national scatter — your message reaches the people who actually live, work, and spend here.

Limited placements

Each issue carries one Lead Sponsor, one Mid Issue Feature, and one event promotion. Your brand isn't buried in a page of ads — placements are finite by design.

Editorial trust

Our CD Picks and honest business reviews build genuine reader trust. That credibility extends to the brands we choose to work with.

Get in at the start

We are offering reduced prices throughout 2026 while the Cotswold Digest audience continues to grow. Advertising rates will increase for new bookings after this period.

FAQs

What format do I need ad copy in?

Plain text for the copy, PNG or JPG for images (minimum 1200px wide), and a URL to link to. We'll handle the layout.

How much notice do I need to give for a newsletter sponsorship?

We ask for at least 5 working days' notice before the issue date so we have time to lay it out and send you a preview.

Can I see a draft before it goes out?

Yes — we always send a preview for newsletter sponsors before the issue is sent. You can request small amends at that stage.

Is there a minimum commitment for newsletter sponsorships?

No minimum for Lead Sponsor or Mid Issue Feature per-issue bookings. The Monthly Newsletter Partnership commits you to four consecutive issues, paid in advance.

What's the cancellation policy for directory listings?

Standard and Premium listings require a 3-month minimum commitment. After that, cancel anytime with one month's notice.

Do you offer bespoke partnerships?

Yes — if you're looking for something outside the standard products (sponsored content, competitions, village guides) get in touch and we'll discuss options.

I have a CD Pick or editorial review — is that the same as advertising?

No. CD Picks are editorial and entirely independent. We don't accept payment for inclusion on the Our Picks page or for editorial reviews.

Ready to advertise?

Check availability and make an enquiry. We respond within 24 hours and there's no commitment at this stage.
