About this event

Bacharach songs, opened up for a jazz club

The Jazz Club at Witney brings Burt Bacharach's songs to the Corn Exchange in sung and instrumental arrangements. Catherine Sykes provides vocals, with Alex Steele, bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer Euan Palmer reshaping familiar numbers including Arthur's Theme, Alfie, Do You Know the Way to San Jose and Wives and Lovers.

The arrangements leave room for jazz improvisation without losing the melodies that made the songs stick. It is a single Friday evening performance, with cafe-style tables or raked seating and the bar open before the show.

Ticketed.
