About this event
One of the better reasons to be in Burford on a Friday evening. The Oxford Chamber Music Festival brings five performers into St John the Baptist on Church Green for ninety minutes that move from Schumann's Kinderszenen and Debussy's Clair de Lune through Arvo Pärt's spare minimalism, a Bloch Prayer, and Fauré's Après une rêve — and then, mid-programme, Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now. After the interval, Bach's Goldberg Variations, arranged for string trio.
Emma Bonnici (voice), Priya Mitchell (violin), Meghan Cassidy (viola), Brian O'Kane (cello), and Dirk Mommertz (piano). The OCMF runs intimate chamber concerts across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds; this is the spring festival edition, with two other concerts in the series. A £95 festival pass covers all three and includes champagne at Asthall Manor. Interval refreshments are at Thyme and Lovage, directly opposite the church; free parking at Guildenford Car Park nearby.
Tickets on Eventbrite — the programme range alone makes it worth the trip.
