Orchestra da Camera - An Evening with Haydn & Mozart

Mozart's ninth piano concerto takes centre stage

Orchestra da Camera returns to Cidermill Theatre with Haydn's Symphony No. 1 in D and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 9 in E-flat, with Cecilia Xi at the piano. Boccherini's Minuet and Mozart's Symphony No. 29 in A complete the four-work programme.

Tony Ayres directs the Midlands-based professional chamber orchestra, which was founded in 1957 and played the venue's Music for Strings concert last October. The concert runs for two hours, with doors opening at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start. The Mozart concerto is the centrepiece, but the familiar Boccherini minuet may be the tune people recognise first.
