About this event
Holloway's Auctioneers has been trading out of Banbury since the early 1970s, making it the town's longest-standing auction house, and it now sits within the wider Hansons Auctioneers group fronted by Charles Hanson, the auctioneer familiar from Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip. For one Monday afternoon, their valuers set up inside Moreton-in-Marsh's Redesdale Hall, a Grade II listed building put up in 1887 for Lord Redesdale, whose family later produced the Mitford sisters, and still recognisable by its crown-topped clock tower.
No appointment is needed. Bring gold, silver, jewellery, antiques or general collectables and a specialist will look them over on the spot, give a view on what they're likely worth at auction, and talk through selling options if you decide to go ahead.
Anyone who's ever wondered whether a ring at the back of a drawer or a set of inherited cutlery is worth more than sentimental value gets a straight answer inside twenty minutes, no booking required.
