About this event
Wash Meadow sits at Old Minster, the older riverside part of Minster Lovell where the roofless walls of the 15th-century Minster Lovell Hall still stand above the Windrush. The same team has run the Minster Lovell Festival here for at least three years, turning a Sunday in late August into a full day and evening on the grass.
The programme runs from midday to 11pm and covers most of what a village festival needs: live bands on the main stage through the afternoon and into the night, food and drink stalls, craft stands, and rides for younger children. The duck race is the fixture people actually plan around, run as a two-part event with a children's heat followed by the main race, alongside a colouring competition for kids earlier in the day.
It's the sort of afternoon where you end up staying for the evening bands without really deciding to.
