About this event
Three days of banjos, bonfires, and the kind of festival that regulars quietly hope stays under the radar. Didmarton is one of the UK's premier bluegrass gatherings held annually at Kemble Airfield in Gloucestershire and it has the easy, unhurried atmosphere of a festival that's been loved into existence by people who genuinely care about the music.
Expect bluegrass, Americana, old-time, folk, rockabilly and jazz across the weekend, with two bars pouring real ales and ciders, food traders, showers, and bonfires after dark.
It's hosted by the OGRI motorcycle club, which gives it a character all of its own — part music festival, part gathering of the faithful. The crowd is mixed, the vibe is warm, and the standard of playing from stage to campfire tends to be excellent.
A proper weekend away rather than a day out. Camping is included and there's dedicated disabled parking and camping on site.
