About this event

When life looks settled but feels off balance

Aurie Styla returns with Maverick, a stand-up show about the things that can unsettle an apparently comfortable life. Work-life balance, family influence, relationships and health provide the material as he weighs up the wins and failures.

The show follows The Aurator, his tour of more than 100 performances in the UK and overseas. Maverick picks up his story from the end of that run.

This performance is for ages 14 and over only and has an advertised running time of 1 hour 50 minutes. The venue has not confirmed an event-specific doors time or interval.

General venue guidance is that the bar and in-person box office open an hour before a show, with phone bookings open 90 minutes beforehand. Auditorium doors usually open about 15 minutes before the start; latecomers may have to wait in the bar until a suitable entry point.

Level entry is through the Bar door on Spring Street, next to the main theatre doors, with level access to the stalls, bar, ticket collection and accessible toilet. The balcony and upper rooms are reached by stairs and there is no lift; surrounding paving and street camber are uneven.

Four designated wheelchair spaces have neighbouring companion seats and can be booked through the box office on 01608 642350, or online by wheelchair users on the Access Register. A wheelchair space has no transfer seat, so ask when booking if you need one; visitors transferring must be able to reach the front doors during an evacuation because wheelchairs cannot be stored in the auditorium.

Walking aids other than sticks must be stored in the bar, which can mean covering up to 25 metres without the aid. If that is unsuitable, contact the box office about a wheelchair space or reserving a folding wheelchair, and discuss carer or support arrangements before booking.

An accessible toilet is near the bar and stalls, but there is no Changing Places toilet; the nearest is at Chipping Norton Leisure Centre. A visual guide and familiarisation visits can be arranged through the box office if an unfamiliar venue makes attending difficult.

New Street long-stay car park (OX7 5NF) and Albion Street car park (OX7 5BJ) are free, subject to current signs and restrictions. Blue Badge bays are in the town-centre car park outside Jaffe & Neal and at New Street; Albion Street has none, and spaces cannot be guaranteed.

A drop-off is possible by the theatre entrance, but avoid parking directly outside on narrow Spring Street. West Street bus stops B and C are nearby; check the return service before making plans.

Ticketed. Book access arrangements through the box office before choosing seats.
