The Gateway Cafe & Bar sits on the edge of one of the Cotswold Water Park's lakes, with views across the water that make it one of the most scenic spots for a coffee or lunch in the South Cotswolds. Run by the Relish Group, the kitchen focuses on locally sourced, homemade food. They serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea during the day, with evening service available in season.
The menu covers all-day breakfast, light lunches, homemade cakes and proper coffee, with daily specials making use of local produce. The lakeside setting makes it a natural stop for walkers, cyclists and watersports visitors using the surrounding Cotswold Water Park, as well as locals looking for somewhere relaxed and scenic without having to travel far. Free parking on site and dog-friendly.

What we like
The lakeside views are genuinely gorgeous — on a quiet afternoon this is one of the most relaxing spots in the South Cotswolds. Food is decent and the staff are mostly helpful. When it's not busy, it's fab.
Worth knowing
Gets very busy and noisy at peak times, with tables quite close together, not ideal if you want a quieter lunch or to get some work done. We were shown to a table that still had trays from the previous guests and hadn't been properly wiped down.
